Whale of a Time!

This is the second card we made last night at my card class.
A simple but very affective I think.
The whale is stamped using versamark and sponged using Stampin'Up pastels
to create a softer look.
I decided that something was missing so I added some bubbles
from the spray of the whale, so I punched some small circles, stuck them
onto the card then added some Crystal Effects to create the glossy 3D effect.

Here is a closer piccy.
Think I'll be using this again, maybe with coloured card to
make faux brads or buttons.

The sentiment is from the SAB set Whimsical Words and I added
one of the cute clips from the Clips Assortment.
I love them!

Well the weather is pants!!
It's turned from rain to sleet and snow here, I don't know whats worse!!
Lets hope it gets better.
Have a good weekend.

It's for you whoooo!

This is the first of the cards my ladies will be making tonight using the Animal Stories stamp set
and matching Tall Tales papers
This owl is quite sweet and so versatile.
The stamps and papers are perfect for cards for blokes too.

I've kept the cards nice and simple so that we can hopefully make a few,
that's if we are not chatting too much.
The owl isn't stamped with a normal ink pad, I've stamped him with Versamark
then used my Stampin'Up Pastels to give a more subtle look.
The pearls are from the yummy Pretties Kit and the sentiment is from the
Sale-a-bration set Whimsical Words.

Only a few days left to get your hands on the Whimsical Words set or any of the
othersin the Sale-a-bration!
Just place an order with me to the value of £45 (before p&p) and you can take
your pick of the FREE stamps sets.

I've had yet another busy week and the snow hasn't helped
with the journey to school or work, hence the lack of blogging!
I keep hoping we have seen the last of it and that "normality" is round the corner.

Matching Card

I've made a card to match the gift bag I showed yesterday.
I've kept it simple as the paper is quiet busy and I didn't want it too cluttered.
I've used the lovely plum colours again, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum and Elegant Eggplant ribbon,
with some Close to Cocoa and a bit of Old Olive for good measure.

Here's a close up of the flower and the cute bow (a Julie bow!!) complete with mini button!
The sentiment I have used is from the Good Friend set and is stamped in Old Olive.
I'm thinking I might try these flowers in vellum next,
maybe as part of a Mothers Day or Easter project!!

Well yet another busy weekend for us.
I'm taking the boys to see Jonathan in his panto tomorrow.
He is playing Cinderella's Father in panto at Bradford Playhouse.
Then we have a house warming party to go to and Sunday is as busy as usual.

Hoep you all have a good weekend.

An Extra Little Something!

I've been trying to think of something special to make tonight at my extra card class for half term.
I had loads of miniture bath stuff bottles left from other classes and decided to make this cute treat pouch to hold 2 of them.

I made this bloom using the Scallop Circle punch and the background stamp En Francais.
It's the first one I've made and I'm really pleased with it!!
Making this flower reminded me of the flower we made at our Jems weekend away!!!
But they are sooooo easy, go on have a go!
(there are several tutorials around including Monica's blog)

I thought you would want to see whats inside.
I used some of ny fav colours again, Kraft, Pale Plum, Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant ribbon.
Yummy!!

Right I'm off to make some cards now, hopefully I'll be back tomorrow to show you the results.

Have a good day

More Beer!!

It was our mate Woody's 40th birthday party at the weekend.
I needed a VERY blokey card, so I turned to my Cheers to You stamp set.
It's fair to say that Woody likes a drink so these beer mugs are perfect.

I had to add a little bit of sparkle as it's such a special birthday so I used Dazzling Diamonds for the foam on the beer and then used some Chrystal Effects to give some shine to the glass.
Manly colours were called for too, so I used my new favourite Taken with Teal along with some Old Olive and Bravo Burgundy.

Well the weather is miserable again so I'm trying to think of a few cheap and chearful ways of entertaining the kids this week!!
Hopefully I'll get some time for some crafting.

So Useful!!

Jonathan asked me to come up with a Valentines treat for everyone at church.
I found these yummy heart chocolates on t'internet!!
But they needed a little something adding.

I turned to my SU stash and came up with this!
The words were printed out on the computer and I used the fabulous Word Window punch
to create these little sashes for the chocs!!

Just proves that Stampin Up has sooooo many uses, not just cards and scrappin!

I hope you all have a love filled Valentines day!!!

I'll be back tomorrow with a blokey card.
Enjoy your half term.

At Last.......

.....a card!!!
I managed to find enough energy yesterday to make this simple cupcake card for a friend of Ben's at nursery.
Lauren's birthday is during the half term holiday and the boys finished yesterday, so this was a rush job!!

I played safe and got my punches out to make this cupcake and added some brads for sprinkles.

Here is an arty angle!!

Sorry it's a short post, I'm still not good.
I've been back to the doctors this morning, but this time with Ben.
He is now on antibiotics for a chest and ear infection and now needs a steroid inhaler for his asthma!
Funnily enough he is not having his swine flu jab this afternoon as planned!!

Oh well I need to find some energy from somewhere to clean the house.
My parents are coming to stay for the weekend, arrggghh!!!!

Hope you have a good weekend.

Training Card

Thought I would show you this lovely little card that I made at Julie's the other night at our Jems training evening.
It's such a simple card, using some of my favourite paper, Tea & Crumpets!!
The sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration set Whimsical Words and is stamped in yummy Chocolate Chip.

An arty angle to show off this lovely "Julie" bow!!
And see it is made out of paper!

Sorry it's such a short post, but this week suddenly turned very hectic!!!
Enjoy your weekend!

Look.....No Stampin'!

It's true, I haven't touched a stamp!!
This cute rabbit and his basket of eggs is made using Stampin'Up punches.

I've used scraps of designer patterned papers to make the yummy eggs in the basket.
And the basket is made using the tab punch and a the handle is cut using a 1"punch and 1 3/8" punch to crate a ring.

And here is the cute rabbit.
I'm sure you can work out which punches I've used!!

Don't forget you can order your punches and any other SU goodies just by emailing me
And remember, if you spend £45 or more (before p&p) you can get your hands on a FREE stamp set!

Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow!
