Warm Wishes

Just a quick post to show you this card made using the SU punches.
A cute beach hut and palm tree!

I've had a few other ideas for this palm tree so I think I'm going
to have to find some more time to play!!
Hope it's beach weather where you are!

Girls Flag!

There are a lot of of St George flags around at the moment!
And lets face it they aren't very girly are they??

So, inspired by the tv ad for a well know energy company and there
green patch work Union Jack,
I have created this pink, girly patchwork flag of St George.

I used stamps from various sets, Dot to Dot, A-Z, Seeing Spots and
Vintage Vogue.
They are all stamped in Pretty in Pink with a Kraft card base, background paper from
the Sweet Pea pack, Regal Rose ribbon and Rose Red card.

And then just to make it a bit more girly, I've added some hearts!

Do you think it's girly enough???
Mmmm maybe just a bit more pink!!lol

Tie Tutorial

As promised a quick tutorial on how to make a tie out of ribbon.

All you need is a length of ribbon and a sharpe pair
of scissors.

Tie a knot (an ordinary plain simple knot) towards one end
of your ribbon.

Pull the knot so it is firm but not too tight that you can't undo it again.

Turn your ribbon/knot over so you see that back.
You will see a hole/overlap or ribbon like this.

Use the scissors to push the sort end of the ribbon back into
this hole without it coming undone
or poking out anywhere else.

Trim the other end of your ribbon to look like a tie.
And there you have it.

Hope that all made sense!

Happy Fathers Day!

Life is soooo hectic!!
But I have found a few minutes while Jonathan baths the boys
to show you this simple card for fathers day.

This is the card I made with my ladies at the class I held on Thursday
to go with our framed gifts.
I'm hoping to get the chance tomorrow to do a tutorial for the
ties so that you can have a go.
They would be great for male teachers cards as well.

And all thats left for me to say is happy fathers day to all the Dad's that read my blog
(I'm sure there are some!)
and ladies make sure you spoil your men!

Enjoy

Frame for you

I've been busy working on some new classes and ideas and with
other things that are going on at the moment, life is very hectic!!!
(hence the lack of posts! Sorry)

This picture frame is one of the things we will be making this week
at my card class.
If you want to join us I have a few spaces left, just drop me an
email to book your place.

Hopefully I'll show you the card to go with it tomorrow!

Right I must dash as I have a meeting at school about Ben
starting full time in September, then I have friends coming round to chat about
something else exciting!!

RSVP!

My wonderful friends Woody and Rachel are
getting married during the summer,
and a few days ago this lovely invitation drop through
the letterbox.

So of course I needed to make and RSVP card and took my
inspiration from the the invitation
and made this....

....and I am really pleased with the result!
The colours I've used are Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede,
Blush Blossom and Pumpkin Pie.
Yummy!!
They work really well together, but I honestly wouldn't have thought of
the combination myself.

I've used the border stamp from the Vintage Vogue set with the White
Craft ink to re-create the swirly white border.

All I need to do is now is design a wedding card ready for the
big day.

From Our Home

Hello!
Just a quick post today as the boys are still at home and
have to go to work.
Plus all the usual stuff that needs doing before they go back
to school tomorrow!!

Here's a quick piccy of the card I made at Julies on Tuesday with my
SU sisters.
We used the fab Neighborhood Jumbo Wheel and coloured it using the Stampin'Up
blender pens and ink pads.

Right I must dash,
loads to do, again!!

Shirt & Tie

Sorry I've not posted for a few days.
We took the boys away camping for a few days with
some friends to Derbyshire.
And what fab weather we had!!

We had a great weekend!

Anyway onto my card.
On Tuesday I went to my upline Julie's for our regular
Stampin'Up team training session.
She showed us how to make this fab shirts and tie.
Very appropriate for Father's Day.

So here is the card I made with it.
Soft Suede and Bashful Blue are the colours I've used,
perfect for men.

Here is a close up of the tie so you can see how it is made.
It's soooo easy, just tie a knot in some ribbon, shape one end into a triangle
like a tie and trim the other end and tuck it into the knot to hide it.

Must dash, the boys are still off school until later this week
and I have loads of washing to do from our weekend away.

Desk Set Notes

Hello!
It's nice to see the sun out this morning.
Looking good for our camping trip!

Here, as promised, are the note cards I made to match the
box I showed you yesterday.

I've used the very neglected Garden Whimsey stamp set
with the same colours, Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink
and Rich Razzelberry!
I've used my markers to colour the stamp to create my image
and have added some of my fav dotty ribbon for a little detail!
And of course out came the Oval Punches for the sentiment.

This one usesthe same stamp set and colours.
The ribbon is pleated and stapled onto the card
for something a little different.

Right then time to pack the trailer.
