Jems Colour Challenge

As most of you know I am part of a fab SU family, Julies Jems (links to their blogs are in my sidebar).
We have our own forum where we can chat and share ideas.
Julie set us challenge of making a card using the following colours:
Sage Shadow, Close to Cooca, Regal Rose and Very Vanilla.

Perfect colours for a Valentines card!!

I have had a few ideas for Valentines cards floating round my head but wasn't sure they would work.
This card was one of those ideas!!!
I used the Choo Choo set with the Right On Track Wheel and the hearts in the truck are from the Loads of Love set.
The sentiment is from the Sale-a-bration set Whimsical Words.

As this one turned out ok I may just try and put my other ideas down on paper too!!

Rich & Yummy.....

.....colours! Don't you think???
These are the cards I made with my lovely ladies at my card class last night.

Due to the bad weather I had to cancel the last class, but it seemed a shame to miss out on using such a lovely set for learning the 2 step stampin' technique.
So we made this lovely criss cross card using the Greenhouse Garden stamp set and the yummy Taken With Teal, Chocolate Chip and Rose Red colours.

The other technique we covered last night was simple watercolours using the Stampin Up ink pads and aqua painters.
We used the versatile images from the Fun and fast notes set.
I love this little bird, he is so cute!!!

I'm patiently (not!) waiting for the lovely UPS man to knock on the door with yet another box of Stampin'Up goodies!!!
So hopefully I'll be back tomorrow some pictures to tease you!!!

What a lovely suprise!!

I have been a bit distracted by other things over the last few weeks and I've had a few things playing on my mind, so I've not quiet been myself!!
So it was lovely to find a package waiting on the doormat when I got back from the supermarket and collecting Ben.

I opened up the envelope to find some pink tissue paper
with this inside, a cute card and box from my wonderful SU Mummy Julie.

And inside the box was..............................

...............this very sparkly broach!!
Thanks so much Jules!!!

Egg Box

I know it's a while before Easter, but the shops are full of Easter goodies already.
So I thought it would be good to brush up on my egg box making skills!!
And here is attempt number 1.

I've used the cute little flower from the All in the Family Accessories set to create the background
and coloured them in using my SU markers, Pretty in Pink and Lovely Lilac. I added a few whisps of grass using Gable Green.

The sentiment is from the Occasional Greetings set and is stamped in Regal Rose.
And of course I had to add a bit of ribbon and for the finishing touch a button with some linen thread.
And of course I had to get an egg to match!!

I've had a very busy week getting ready for working over at Holmewood.
And as usual we have a busy weekend, tomorrow I have a childrens ministry training day and on Sunday we are having 20 of our friends round for roast dinner!!!!
So tomorrow night I shall be in the kitchen preping veggies and making puddings!!
It will be so nice to catch up with everyone.
Hope you have a good weekend.

A Simple Thank You

Well, we have had Christmas and Ben's birthday so it's now time to make loads of thank you cards for friends and family for all those toys and gifts.
I wanted to keep it simple as I have loads to make!

So here it is, Pale Plum, Sage Shadow and Night of Navy, not too girly and not too boyish either!

I used the little gift stamp from the All in the Family accessory stamp set and Pale Plum ink to stamp the background.
I used Sage Shadow to stamp the sentiment which is from the Say it with Scallops set and I added some Night of Navy ribbon to add some extra detail.
I've already made 20 of these, just another 20 to go!!!!

I'll be back tomorrow with a sweet treat to share!!

Pink & Girly!!

There are lots of birthdays this month including a very special one.
Our lovely God-daughter, Rosemary, was one and had her party at the weekend.
Rosemary, or should that be her Daddy, likes trains so I just had to use the Choo Choo set and On Track wheel.
And a special girl deserves an extra big card, this one is 8x8 which is a lovely size to work with.

But I needed to make it girly so I used some of the flower embelishments from the Sunny Day scrappin' kit and lots of pink!!!

And to make it more girly I used these cute little hearts for the steam from the train!
The number one is cut using my Cricut to which I added some glitter round the edges for that extra special sparkle!!

I'm looking forward to a normal week this week as I have so many things to do that I had to put off 'cos of the silly weather.
So this afternoon I'm taking Ben into town to spend his birthday money.
Hope you have a good day!
