Remember Your Umberella!!

Well by the weatherman's prediction it's going to be a wet summer so like Anya you need your umberella!
Sadly I don't own any of these stamps, but my lovely friend Jules very kindly gave me a few stamped images for me to play with.
This is the result!
I coloured the image using my SU markers, and tried to get the shading right, I think it may take a bit more practice!!
The torn card is Real Red and the papers are from My Minds Eye, a pack I have had in my drawer for a while now and never opened!
Thankfully so far today I haven't needed my umberella and have managed to get some more washing done while the boys have a friend round to play.
Hopefully the next project I bring you will be a 3D one! But it may take a few days.
Have a good weekend.

Wish you were here!!

I've finally found an hour when the boys were occupied enough for me to sit at my craft desk and finally get some ideas from my head onto paper!!
Flower pot cards seem to be very popular on most blogs at the moment, but I thought I would try something a bit different.
As it is holiday time, what better than a bucket and spade!

Of course it had to be complete with sand to ready for making that all important sand castle.

Pull the spade out of the bucket to reveal a cheeky snail and of course somewhere to write those holiday greetings, usually all about the weather!!

And of course no sand castle is complete without pebbles (ok I know they are buttons but they are perfect for the job)!
Sadly in this wet weather I don't think we will be building any sand castles soon! So I've been keeping the boys busy with some baking, current buns complete with icing and cherries on top and some yummy lemon cakes!
I'm hoping it won't be too long before I can get to my desk again! (I live in hope)

A Sweet Tweet!!

I've finally finishes making the 4 sets of teachers gifts for Samuel to take to school on Friday.
I seen a few of these cute bird boxes made by different people and decided to have a go.
(here is the template if you fancy a go)

I made matching cards using the very sweet Wild About You stamp set from Stampin'Up. I used the flower and bird from the stamp set to decorate the bird houses too.

And of course every teacher needs a memo pad on their desk. So I used the left over coasters from Fathers Day to make some girly memo pads with mini post it's and pens.

And here it is all wrapped up! I hope they like them. The others have been made in different colours (hopefully I'll show you those tomorrow!).

Hope you like them too, why not leave a comment and let me know!

Bugs and Bookmarks!!

I thought you might like to see the results of my Garden Whimsey card class last night. I had 5 lovely ladies attend and we had a fun night making these book mark cards.

The bit on the right of the card is perforated using the Stampin'Up cutter kit, a fab tool set which includes a cutter, perforator, scoring blade and distressing tool.

Then we made this cute mini note card and used a rhinestone brad to add a touch of summer sparkle to the card.
And finally here are some of my ladies hard at work, just to prove that there cards are handmade!! (I know one or two people don't believe them when they say they have made them themselves).
Right I need to get on with making some teachers gifts and play about with a few box templates ready for my summer classes.
Have a good weekend!

For a friend

I am blessed with many friends, but I have to say that I don't always thank them for their friendship, which is very bad of me!
This card would be perfect for just that!

The verse is from the SU God's Blessings set and reads "a friend is someone who strengthens you with prayers, blesses you with love and encourages you with hope".

I kept this card simple and cut out some flowers from the SU Tea Party papers and punched some using my SU punches. I added a rhinestone gem and some liquid pearls to add dimension.

Life is still very hectic here as the end of term gets closer, tomorrow I'm going into school to see Samuel's work over the year, I then have my card class and on Friday we hopefully get all the results of Samuel's blood tests.
Hopefully I'll get chance to post again before the weekend!!

Soft Summer Colours

I've been asked to make a thank you card by one of my customers for her collegue. So I decided to get out my new Wild About You stamp set and have a play.
This is the result.

These animal stamps are so very cute and so easy as there is no colouring to do!!

Here is a different angle!! I used some liquid pearls from my stash for the flowers centres and on the scallop edges.
Everything else used is from Stampin'Up. If you fancy getting hold of any of it let me know!

I have yet another mad week, with end of year things at school, Samuel's blood tests and doctors appointments, prep for my card class and starting to prepare for our holiday!!! Not sure when I will get any time to craft!

Happy Birthday Mum!!

Ok it's NOT my Mum's birthday, but it is my SU Mum Julie's birthday!! Happy birthday Jules, I hope you have a good day.
I saw Jules earlier on in the week so I was able to give her her card and gift.

I've used the Fresh Cuts set from the mini catalogue for this card in one Jules fav colours Chocolate Chip, the paper is from the SU designer paper selection in So Saffron and I used my Martha Stewart edge punch to add some extra detail, and the ribbon is Rose Red.

Here is another angle so you can see the knotted ribbon.

Well another fairly busy weekend lies ahead with football and school fates then church and the band playing at the summer praise BBQ on Sunday. I'm just hoping the rain holds off!!

Fancy an Ice Cream?

With all this hot weather the boys have been eating loads of ice cream, usually covered in sauce or sprinkles!!

So I took inspiration from the ice cream for this card, and as I don't have a stamp, I had to make it up as I went along. I had seen someone else make the top of a cupcake using the SU scallop edge and scallop circle punches (if it was you then please let me know so I can credit you). So decided to see if it would work for an ice cream!
What do you think?

I used Real Red for the card base, Whisper White, More Mustard for the cone and Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue for the ice cream. Of course it wouldn't be ice cream without the sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles at that!!!

Here's an arty angle!!!! Not sure why but it looks good!!
