Don't forget BE QUICK!!

A Little Birdie....

..... has been helping me get ready for my NEW Stampin'Up Catalogue launch party.
I love this set, it's so versatile and the bird is great for cards for all ages.

I decided I would be at a bit daring, well daring for me anyway, and use some brighter colours! Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Pumkin Pie and Green Galore.
I used my spiral punch and my cutter kit to distress the edges and used some scraps of dimentionals to make the beak stand out.
Yet again we have another busy week. My sister is staying with us for a few days, the boys are loving spending the time with her. I am trying to get ready for Julies Jems weekend away! I really need to write a list of bits I need to take and bits I need to do before I go.
It's going to be a fab weekend with my SU sisters, sharing, getting to know each other and of course some crafting!!
I'm off to get a pad and pen to write a list or 2!!

Tin for 10 years!!!

I'm posting this now as I know I won't have chance tomorrow.
It's our 10th wedding anniversary tomorrow and if you follow the traditional gifts 10 years is tin. Well there's not much that's made of tin these days so I stuck to the metal theme with silver instead.
Jonathan has wanted a new tie clip for ages but we have struggled to find one. When I saw this in the jewellers in town I knew it was perfect and I just had to get it engraved.

I just hope he likes it!!

This is the card I have made for him using the items that Anne sent for our recent Jems Challenge. The card blank, black card stock and vellum are from my stash the rest if from the kit that Anne sent.
Tomorrow is going to be a very busy but strange day. Tomorrow our worship band His2Own are playing at the funneral of a one of our biggest supporters. She was sadly taken from us last week after a hard battle with a tuma in her head and neck. I think it will be one of the hardest things we have ever had to do! I just hope and pray that we do her proud and that when I open my mouth to sing something actually comes out.
Then after the usual school runs etc we have our alternative service in the evening when the band playing again. The bit I'm really looking forward to is after when we are all coming back to ours for a well deserved curry and glass or two of something strong!!!
For those who believe in the power of prayer, please say one for our band at 11:30am and for those that don't please send us your positive thoughts.
Hopefully I'll be back on Saturday.

No Longer Around

I have decided that as one of my favourite sets of papers is no longer going be around after the end of the month, that I ought to make the most of having it and actually use it.
The Summer Picnic papers are great for making cards for both boys and girls, which is one reason I love them so much.

Here is a very quick and simple card I made using the very cute rabbit from the Forest Friends stamp set.

I added some faux stitch detail using a black pen and used SU dimentionals to lift the scallop circle off the card slightly.

I've been into town today to get Jonathan a very special gift for our wedding anniversary on Friday. I can't show you just yet, incase he decides to look at my blog. I just hope he likes it!!!
He is out tonight so hopefully I can get some cards made and find a suitable hidding place for his gift.
I should be back tomorrow to show you more of what I've made.

Itty Bitty Bookmark

Well here is the first of my samples from the NEW catalogue to show you. I pinched the idea from the bookmark we made with the ladies in Scarborough.

The stamp set I used is one if the new hostess sets called Itty Bitty Buds. It's a great set so versatile with some lovely flowers and leaves.
I used my SU tab punch, added some chunky ribbon and a button for added detail. The For You stamp is from the Fresh Cuts stamp set.
I have a poorly Ben this week, he has tonsilitis, so I don't think I'm going to get done all the things I have on my to do list!!
The kitchen/dining room ceiling is almost painted though but I still have 2 large beams to sand and stain. No rest for the wicked!
Right off to collect Sam from school, I hope he's had a good day.

Loads to do.....

.....and never enough time!!

I've had another manic week hence the lack of posts! And to add to everything else that normally goes on we are trying to finish off some of the DIY jobs around the house. We have only been in our house for 17 months and spent the first 6 months constantly doing DIY, there was an lot to do to the house!!! Then we got to an appropriate time to have our house warming party and stopped. Neither of us have picked up a paint brush since.
I'm also busy working on some samples from the new catalogue, but I'm going to keep you waiting just a little bit longer before I post them.
So here are some of the pics from the workshop in Scarborough instead.

Inspired!

After a recent blog hop, I was inspired by fellow SU demonstrator Carole Claxton and her very stylish yet simple thank you card.

I wanted to give my upline Julie a card to says thanks for her help at the workshop we did in Scarborough at the weekend, but wanted something bright and cheerful, so I used the retiring Summer Picnic papers, which I am sad to see go.

And using the Simply Said stamp set was perfect!
All the card stock is from Stampin'Up and the flower is made using the Stampin'Up flower punch and a little brad, cute!

Here's the arty angle again!!!
Well the weekend was hectic but good, we had a lovely time in Scarborough, other than being sat in traffic on the way there! We met some lovely people who really enjoy our workshop.
Ben seems to have settled into nursery well and Samuel is doing well in year 1, although he is very tired! I think moving from reception to year 1 has been a bit of a shock to the system.
Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with a sneak peak from the new catalogue, ohhh I can't wait!!!

Another Blessing

I've been making extra cards using the Gods Blessings stamp set this week ready for a workshop I'm doing for the Salvation Army in Scarborough tomorrow, for 38 people!!!Yikes!! Good job I have my SU Mummy to hold my hand!!

I've kept this card nice and simple so that the sentiment isn't lost among flowers or pictures.

The set is still avaliable but only while the stock lasts!!

It's been a busy week (hence the lack of posts!!) but don't feel as though I have achieved as much as I would have liked.
Ben started nursery this week. He loves it and loves the fact that he see's Samuel at play time too. So now I seem to spend most of my day driving between home and school!!

Hopefully over the weekend I'll have pictures to show you of what we make in Scarborough. Wish me Luck!

What a Week!!

Sorry for not posting. This week has been hectic, Samuel was back at school on Wednesday, he's in year 1 now. He's loving being back but is shattered. I think it's a bit of a shock to the system as he is doing more work and less playing, plus he has more homework too!

I'm busy trying to get Ben ready for nursery, he starts next week. We are trying to get him used to the routine of getting up and having breakfast by 8am, which is a tall order as he used to have breakfast when we got home from taking Sam to school.
So here they both are looking rather smart in their uniform!

I'm hoping to back to normal next week and as Ben will be at nursery I shall have a bit more time to craft, which I'm looking forward too as my pre order items from the new Stampin'Up catalogue are winging there way as we speak!!
