Oh boy!!!

Sorry I haven't posted.
I have spent 2 days in hospital with Samuel.
They though he had an appendicitus (?)!!
Thankfully it wasn't but he was in an awful lot of pain
with inflamed lymph nodes in his tummy.
He has indured several days of Doctors proding and pokeing and needles
and blood tests.

Thankfully they sorted him out with surgery and he is now back home
hoping to get some decent sleep!!! (me too!)

As soon as I have the chance to upload the pics from my camera
I have some projects to show you.
Make sure you pop back.

Fun & Fast

Here is another card I made for the one of the boys to take to a
friends birthday party at the weekend.
Ben helped me design this one for his friend Thomas.
So he picked the colours he knew Thomas would like.

Ben also chose which stamp I had to use!!!
This one is from the Fun & Fast Notes stamp set,
which I haven't used for ages.
I've also used the new alphabet background stamp from the mini catalogue.

The number 4 is a sticker I found in my stash drawer.
Ben wanted to add some buttons, so we used the nice large clear buttons
and added some circles of co-ordinating card behind them.
I added some Linen Thread for extra detail.

The colours that Ben picked are Bashful Blue, Sage Shadow and Perfect Plum.
Not bad colour co-ordination for a 4 yr old!!

A Birthday Load

We seem to be in birthday party season at the moment.
The boys have been to several friends parties in such a short space
of time!
Here is one of the cards I made for Samuel's friend Ben for his birthday last week.

Ben is a typical boy and loves sport,
so I created this truck full of sporty birthday fun using the
Loads of Love set and the All in the Family Accessories set.

I've coloured it all in using my ink pads and water brush.
The papers are from the Sweet Pea collection with some ribbon and buttons
for extra detail.

Busy week this week as I have loads to do.
I have a bundle of paperwork to get done to give to the council so we can get
listed building consent to replace our windows.
It's all very technical and needs some serious concentration
(which I don't have after having had a bad night with Samuel and his asthma!!).

Best get on!!

Sweet Pencil Tin

I thought I would show you the lovely pencil tins we altered
at my card class on Thursday evening.
It was nice to make something other than a card.

We made some of the lovely flowers using the
Scallop Circle Punch, damped them with Aqua Brushes and screwed
them up. When you unfold them they look all creased and very vintage.
They work really well with the Sweet Pea Felt Flowers.

The papers we used are from the Sweet Pea Paper pack and the ribbon
is from the mini catalogue too, very yummy Old Olive.
We used the narrow Very Vanilla ribbon to cover the edge of the tin
with a baby button felt flower for decoration.

Here is the inside of the tin covered in the yummy Sweet Pea papers
again.

Now I just have to think of something to put in it!!!!!

Hope you enjoy the sunny weekend.

Fancy some cake???

Well I would let you all have a slice but you would get an nasty
supprise when you bit into it!!
This cake is not real.

I was asked by the parent and toddler group at church to
decorate there new birthday cake.
I was then handed a polestyrene cake dummie!!!

It took a lot of thinking and playing about,
but this is what I came up with.

The tiny flowers are punched using the Boho Punch and they are attached using bridal
pins pushed into the polestyrene.

I decorated it using the cute animals from the Fox and Friends set
and I used a selection of punches to make a
Noah's Ark for the front of the cake.
Even the candles are made of paper so the kids don't get hurt.
They are stuck on using velcro spots so they can have 1,2 or 3 candles!

Right off to spend hours on the phone to the insurance company
to see if they can sort my car!!
It's currently in bits in the garage an will stay there for 2 days!!
Not helpful when boys go to school in the next village that doesn't have a bus link!!
Oh well.

Family Fun

Sorry I have no cards to show you today.
But I thought you would like to see some of the pics I
took yesterday when we took the boys to
the Lego Discovery Centre in Manchester.

Meet Professor Brick!
The children learnt how the famous Lego bricks are made
and each came home with a special factory brick.

After seeing the most amazing Lego models it was our turn to build.

Then chance for an extra special lesson in Lego building from the Master Builder!

And here is what the boys learnt to make.
Such a cute turtle!!

We saw an amazing 4D Lego film, took a ride through a Lego castle
where we had to shoot the baddies and find the princess.
The boys had chance to let off some steam playing in the
Lego Firefighter play centre and of course we spent ages in the Lego shop!!

Hopefully I'll be back with some crafty bits tomorrow.

Birds Nest

I've been playing with the new Treat Cups from the mini catalogue.
We have several bags of mini eggs around the house over the last
few weeks and supprisingly I managed to get hold of some before we ate them all!!
I managed to fit 4 of them perfectly into a treat cup.

I just needed to find a way of turning the treat cup into a nest of eggs.
So I used the lovely new bird punch again to create the bird sitting on the nest
and the branches for the nest to sit on.
I then used a semi circle of card to create the nest.

I'm not sure how long the eggs will stay in the card though!!!!!

Right I'm off to spend some quality time with my family.
Hubby has the day off and we are taking the boys out.
I'll reveal all tomorrow.

Vintage Gift

I can't seem to put the Vintage Vogue stamp set down at the moment.
I've had this gift box sat scored and ready to make on my desk for over a week.
I also had the Vinatge Vogue set sat on my desk too,
and thought why not.
So here is the end result!

Here is a close up of the flower I used to dedcorate the gift box.
I used the branch from the new bird punch
and stamped the vintage flower twice using the rock and roll
method.
I also added some Close to Cocoa ink round the edges with
a sponge dauber to age it a little more.
I also used my bone folder to curl the edges of the flowers slightly.

Hope you like it??

My Sweet Pea

Hope your all enjoying the sun!
It certainly makes you want to get out which means I haven't spent much time
at my craft desk over the last few days!!

Here is a quick 6x6 scrapbook page I made at the Stampin'Up
experience evening.
We used the lovely new My Sweet Pea stamp set from
the new mini catalogue.
A few days ago I added the photo of Samuel
as a baby, just a few days old.

I have loads of photos that I need to scrap, I really
must make more effort to do some scrapping.

Vintage Bird

I haven't really had much time to play with my goodies from the
mini catalogue, so with the kids being off school and no work for
me for 2 weeks, I have managed to find some extra time at my craft desk.

I have really enjoyed playing with the Vintage Vogue stamp set.
It looks fab!!!
And makes getting the vintage look soooo easy!!

I have teamed it with the lovely bird punch, which works really
well with this stamp set.
I created the background using the swirly stamp from the set and
Close to Cocoa ink. Before I stamped it on my card I stamped on some
scrap paper first to take off the excess ink to get a more subtle look.

The flowers are stamped in Rose Red and Pretty in Pink with So Saffron
brads for the centres.
I also added a "Julie" bow with some of the yummy
new satin ribbon.

Right I'm off to find something to entertain the boys
while I get creative in the kitchen and do some more cleaning.
We have friends coming for dinner tonight.

Hope you have a good weekend!

Mum's Monkeys!!!

I love these monkeys!!
Soooo cute.
I thought they were perfect for this card I was asked to make
for 2 boys to give to there Mum for her birthday.
Jo I hope you like your card!

The monkeys are from the new Fox and Friends set from the mini catalogue
and are swinging on a branch made using the new bird punch.
The hearts were made using the Heart to Herat punch and Kraft card
with some faux stitching.
I used dimensionals to lift them off the card.

The colours I have used are Cameo Coral, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Kraft.

the link in my side bar to view the catalogue
