Jems Colour Challenge

As most of you know I am part of a fab SU family, Julies Jems (links to their blogs are in my sidebar).
We have our own forum where we can chat and share ideas.
Julie set us challenge of making a card using the following colours:
Sage Shadow, Close to Cooca, Regal Rose and Very Vanilla.

Perfect colours for a Valentines card!!

I have had a few ideas for Valentines cards floating round my head but wasn't sure they would work.
This card was one of those ideas!!!
I used the Choo Choo set with the Right On Track Wheel and the hearts in the truck are from the Loads of Love set.
The sentiment is from the Sale-a-bration set Whimsical Words.

As this one turned out ok I may just try and put my other ideas down on paper too!!

Rich & Yummy.....

.....colours! Don't you think???
These are the cards I made with my lovely ladies at my card class last night.

Due to the bad weather I had to cancel the last class, but it seemed a shame to miss out on using such a lovely set for learning the 2 step stampin' technique.
So we made this lovely criss cross card using the Greenhouse Garden stamp set and the yummy Taken With Teal, Chocolate Chip and Rose Red colours.

The other technique we covered last night was simple watercolours using the Stampin Up ink pads and aqua painters.
We used the versatile images from the Fun and fast notes set.
I love this little bird, he is so cute!!!

I'm patiently (not!) waiting for the lovely UPS man to knock on the door with yet another box of Stampin'Up goodies!!!
So hopefully I'll be back tomorrow some pictures to tease you!!!

I opened up the envelope to find some pink tissue paper
with this inside, a cute card and box from my wonderful SU Mummy Julie.

And inside the box was..............................

Egg Box

I know it's a while before Easter, but the shops are full of Easter goodies already.
So I thought it would be good to brush up on my egg box making skills!!
And here is attempt number 1.

I've used the cute little flower from the All in the Family Accessories set to create the background
and coloured them in using my SU markers, Pretty in Pink and Lovely Lilac. I added a few whisps of grass using Gable Green.

The sentiment is from the Occasional Greetings set and is stamped in Regal Rose.
And of course I had to add a bit of ribbon and for the finishing touch a button with some linen thread.
And of course I had to get an egg to match!!

I've had a very busy week getting ready for working over at Holmewood.
And as usual we have a busy weekend, tomorrow I have a childrens ministry training day and on Sunday we are having 20 of our friends round for roast dinner!!!!
So tomorrow night I shall be in the kitchen preping veggies and making puddings!!
It will be so nice to catch up with everyone.
Hope you have a good weekend.

A Simple Thank You

Well, we have had Christmas and Ben's birthday so it's now time to make loads of thank you cards for friends and family for all those toys and gifts.
I wanted to keep it simple as I have loads to make!

So here it is, Pale Plum, Sage Shadow and Night of Navy, not too girly and not too boyish either!

I used the little gift stamp from the All in the Family accessory stamp set and Pale Plum ink to stamp the background.
I used Sage Shadow to stamp the sentiment which is from the Say it with Scallops set and I added some Night of Navy ribbon to add some extra detail.
I've already made 20 of these, just another 20 to go!!!!

I'll be back tomorrow with a sweet treat to share!!

Pink & Girly!!

There are lots of birthdays this month including a very special one.
Our lovely God-daughter, Rosemary, was one and had her party at the weekend.
Rosemary, or should that be her Daddy, likes trains so I just had to use the Choo Choo set and On Track wheel.
And a special girl deserves an extra big card, this one is 8x8 which is a lovely size to work with.

But I needed to make it girly so I used some of the flower embelishments from the Sunny Day scrappin' kit and lots of pink!!!

And to make it more girly I used these cute little hearts for the steam from the train!
The number one is cut using my Cricut to which I added some glitter round the edges for that extra special sparkle!!

I'm looking forward to a normal week this week as I have so many things to do that I had to put off 'cos of the silly weather.
So this afternoon I'm taking Ben into town to spend his birthday money.
Hope you have a good day!

Scrap Stampin'Up Style!!

With all this cold gloomy weather I decided it was time to bright and cheerful with the Sunny Day scrappin' kit from SU.
The colours certainly make a nice change from seeing white!!!

I haven't done any scrapping for rather a long time so I'm a bit out of practice.
But I have a pile of photos that NEED something doing with them, including all the photos of the boys at Thomas Land.

This kit made it so easy! All the colours co-ordinate and there are loads of embelishments to add, I was spoilt for choice.
The only thing that is missing is the title!!

Well the weather is still causing problems for us getting to school, however today has been better than previous days. Don't forget if you were going to try and come to my card class tonight I have cancelled it.

Stay warm and safe!

Snow Day......Again!!!

This is our street, a normally very busy road that runs through the village.
Well we had good intentions of going to school today. The boy's weren't due in til 9:45am but seeing the weather I knew the roads would be bad. So we set off at 8:30am to do what would normally take 10 mins!!!
We didn't even make it out of the village. It took us half an hour to do less than a quater of a mile.

Thankfully school sent a text at 9am to say they were open with a skeleton staff and if possible we were to keep the children at home.
The main road outside school is very bad, even the buses appear to have stopped, so you know it's bad.

So here are some snowy pics. We had a good 2 inches of snow last night and it hasn't stopped yet!
And all of that is added to what was already on the ground.
Yorkshire seems to have it bad today.

Oh well, at least there is more snow to make another snowman!

Hope you are all managing to keep safe and warm.

What a day!!

It's been a busy day for me.
I have been on a first aid course for 4 hours this morning which was tiring but fun!
Then this afternoon was Ben's birthday party (thankfully not at home!).
It was fun but I'm shattered.

So sadly there was no crafting today so I thought I would show you my new stamp storage unit I got for Christmas.

It sits nicely in the corner and holds my SU stamp sets, Cricut carts and 4 browm leather magazine boxes on the bottom shelf (laid on there backs) which hold my SU card stock.
I know it's not much to look at but it has made a difference to me and has given me more room!!!

Right I'm off to relax for the evening.

Oh Snow!!!

Well like most of the country normal life has been disrupted by snow, large amounts of snow!!
The boys school was closed today (why wasn't it closed yesterday???? the boys hated that I made them walk to school!!)
So they have spent the day playing and watching dvd's and causing chaos!
Sadly it has meant that I haven't had chance to get to my craft desk.
But I'm hoping I can tomorrow.

So here is a snowy pic of the kids with a snowman/snowbear, can't decide which!
I love Ben's grin, smiling even though he was frozen.
Here's hoping for another snow day tomorrow so I don't have to try and get the car out or walk 2 miles to school up that big slippery hill!

Wrap up warm.

Club Penguin.....

.....meets Stampin'Up!!!!

Today is Ben's 4th birthday and he has had a DS for his birthday with the Disney Club Penguin game and some penguin figures from Samuel.
So it was a good excuse for me to get out my punches again and make some penguins!!!

One sliding down the number 4!!

One with birthday balloons!

And one with loads of gifts!

Well the snow has caused chaos again!!! I couldn't get out of our village to get the boys to school so we had to abandon the car and walk nearly 2 miles up hill in a blizzard to get to school!!!

Hopefully I'll be back later but I think I'll be spending most of the day walking up and down hills between school and home!!!
